HOME DECOR BUYER

Scope of Position:
Purchase home décor merchandise. Manage the
merchandising of a Specialty Shop of home décor products.
Successfully manage a staff of 2-3 members including scheduling and
evaluations.
Requirements
Associate degree or equivalent experience.
Familiar with Email, MS Excel, Word,
PowerPoint and general PC operations.
Willing to learn ARSS POS system.
Must be willing to sign a “ Do not compete
agreement”.
Previous work references.
Criminal Background report must be clear.
Must be willing to complete a
pre-employment and random post employment drug screening.
Task/ Responsibilities include:
Purchase home décor, gift and specialty
items.
Maintain excellent working relationships
with VP of buying.
Travel to buying shows with overnight stay
required. (Fort worth, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City,
Greenville, SC., New York)
Creating purchase orders with cost,
retails, and terms of payment, freight, cancellation and ship
dates.
Maintain acceptable product level for
customer satisfaction.
Candidate must express a since or style
when decorating..
Maintain perpetual inventories.
Achieve gross margins and maintain an open
to buy.
Assist in merchandising products to
maximize sales and profits.
Buyer will report directly to the VP of
the company.
Candidate must be willing to work as a
Trainee/Apprentice for up to 2 years.
Hours of work:
Current position requires 45+ hours a
week. Some nights, weekends and all holidays are also required.

JOB DESCRIPTION
SALES CLERK

Scope of Position:
Assist Neuse Sport Shop customers in finding and purchasing hunting
and fishing merchandise. Also, assist coworkers in maintaining and
operating the day to day task for retail sales of merchandise.
Duties of a Sales Clerk:
Assist customers in a friendly, courteous, and
conscientious manner.
Become knowledgeable in hunting, fishing, boating, and
camping merchandise.
Be able to operate computers and computerized cash
machines. Also be able to count change if machines fail.
Stock shelves with merchandise and check in vendor
deliveries as necessary.
Install fishing line on reels.
Install scopes on rifles.
Assist customers with lay away, returns, exchanges and
create special orders for customers.
Perform firearm background checks.
Issue hunting/fishing license and boat registrations;
knowledgeable of regulations and citations for fish and wildlife.
Become knowledgeable of NC Educational Lottery in
order to sell and validate tickets. Also provide end of daily
reports on ticket sales and winnings
Perform credit checks for customers to receive
financing on purchases.
Manage freshwater aquarium.
Conduct fish feeding demonstrations for the aquarium.
Maintain live bait facilities.
Assist Shift Supervisor with opening and closing of
the store.
Provide leadership and training for new employees and
part time staff.
Knowledgeable of Meridian phone system, answer phone,
transfer calls, page, and take messages.
Perform cash register closeouts at the end of each
shift.
Requirements for a Sales Clerk:
Pleasant attitude.
Good basic math skills.
Multi task skills
Basic computer skills.
Mechanically inclined.
Must be able to pass pre-employment background and
drug test.
Must be able to pass the FBI firearm certification.
Must pass firearm safety class or have taken the
class.
Preference Skills for a Sales Clerk:
Hunting and fishing knowledge.
Customer service or sales experience of 5 plus years.
Associates degree in business or similar studies.
Warehouse or merchandising experience.
Requirements of a Sales Clerk:
This is
a full time employment position. It requires the individual to be
able to work at anytime during a 7 day week. The individual must be
able to work rotational shifts of 5 am to 1 pm or 1 pm to 9 pm. Also
the individual must be able to be scheduled for work on December 26
of each year for the largest sale of the year. Individual must be
able to lift 50 pounds plus. The individual may be asked to perform
other duties as needed for the operation of Neuse Sport Shop.

must an applicant be to work at Neuse Sport Shop?

2. What are
the hours I might be asked to work? If you are
older than 18 as early as 5 am and as late as 11pm. If
you are 16 or 17 the same range applies with additional
limits based on the time of year, weather school is in
session and all Federal and State Wage and Hour Laws.
3. Will I be
required to take a pre-employment drug screen test in
order to be hired at Neuse Sport Shop?
YES.
4. Will I be
required to present a criminal background report? Yes.
Your local Law enforcement department will provide you a
copy of this report. You will be required to provide a
copy with your application.

Neuse Sport Shop
